Best Gaming Mouse
With so many different brands and models it can be quite difficult to choose the best gaming mouse for yourself. I know how much research I did when I bought my first one! But fear not, you won’t have to invest as much time as I did into researching what’s the best gaming mouse on the market. In this article, I’ve listed all the very best models. I’ve kept all kinds of gamers and all budgets in mind – you’ll find wireless and notebook gaming mice, special mice for MMOG gamers, mice for the budget gamers and for those too who can afford the absolute best.
Budget Gaming Mouse
Logitech MX 518
The Logitech MX 518 has a 1800 dpi optical sensor. The sensitivity can be adjusted on-the-fly, starting from 400 dpi. It also has 8 programmable buttons. As far as comfort is concerned, it’s fairly comfortable, even when gaming for longer hours. It’s feet are also pretty good and glide smoothly without any skips
The Logitech MX 518 is a real classic amongst gamers. Although features-wise it’s not the best anymore, its still known for its great build quality, durability, and affordability. It’s the best mouse you can get for the price.
The MX 518 makes for an excellent first gaming mouse, so If you have never bought a gaming mouse before then I recommend you get this one. It’s also recommended for the budget gamers out there as you just can’t find a mouse that’s better than the MX 518 at a cheaper price.

Wireless Gaming Mouse
Logitech G700
The Logitech G700 is, in my personal opinion, the best wireless gaming mouse out there. The great thing about the G700 is that it can also be used as a normal wired mouse if required. Other than that, it has a 5,700 dpi laser sensor with the sensitivity being adjustable on-the-fly. It can also store 5 profiles which is useful if you use different settings for different games.
The battery it uses is rechargeable, if you’re wondering, so no more going through endless AAAs. The battery also automatically begins to charge whenever you use it in wired mode, which is a nice feature.
Not much more other than that, so unless you really like wireless mice, I’d recommend you check out the “For The Pros” section below for better, more customizable mice.

MMOG Gaming Mouse
Razer Naga
The Razer Naga is the only laser gaming mouse on the market made specifically for MMOGs. The most unique thing about this mouse is that it features a 12-button keypad on the left side of the mouse. When I first saw this I thought it’d be very uncomfortable to use, which is not true at all actually once you get used to it!
While the addition of a keypad may appear weird at first, it actually makes sense because now you can operate macros and perform in-game commands mostly with your thumb. That alone will improve the comfort and efficiency of your gaming sessions, especially if they are long. Yes, the keypad does take some practice to get used to it but once you do get used to it, it’ll just become second nature.
Other features include a 1ms response time, special teflon feet for smooth movement, a 5,600 dpi sensor, and the ability to store unlimited character profiles – very useful if you play different MMOGs with different settings or even if you play different characters within the same game.
Unless you play MMOGs fairly often, I wouldn’t suggest you to buy the Razer Naga. The reason being that the 12-button keypad – which is the main selling point of this mouse – isn’t of much use while playing FPS games. And if you aren’t going to use the keypad then there are much cheaper options (see below).

For The Pros
Logitech G9X
The Logitech G9X is another excellent laser mouse from Logitech. The G9X is an update of the old G9 model and is probably the most customizable gaming mouse on the market currently. While the G9 had a 3,200 dpi, the G9X has a 5,600 dpi sensor. Like all the good gaming mice, this one also allows you to adjust the dpi on-the-fly, from 200 (being the lowest) to 5,000 (being the highest).
A unique thing about this mouse is that it comes with 2 interchangeable grips or shells. There’s the “Wide Load” grip and the “Precision” grip. Each has its own feel and benefits – the Wide Load one features extra comfort while the Precision one features great fingertip control. The weight of the mouse can also be changed with its weight-tuning system, allowing you to add up to 28 g of extra weight. This is especially handy for those who prefer a heavier mouse or like to change the weight depending upon what kind of game they’re playing.
Then there’s the onboard memory that allows you to store up to five ready-to-play profiles (for keyboard macros, dpi settings, and other settings), which is very useful as most of us use different settings for different games.

Razer DeathAdder 3.5G
The Razer DeathAdder 3.5G is a gaming mouse with an infrared sensor, with a maximum dpi of 3,500. Although not as customizable as the Logitech G9X described above, it still is a great gaming mouse for two reasons: one is that it has a 1ms response time, and two is that it’s much cheaper than the G9X. The USB cable of the mouse is a braided one, with the total length being 7 ft., which is pretty good I must say.
Other features include teflon feet that aid the smooth movement of the mouse, five programmable buttons, and of course on-the-fly dpi adjustment. It is also very lightweight, weighing in at 3.7 ounces (almost 105 grams). Unfortunately though it doesn’t have any weight adjustment mechanism so I wouldn’t recommend you buy this one if you like a heavy mouse. In that case, stick with the Logitech G9X. But if you do like a lightweight mouse, like I do, then this is a great mouse.
